LITTLE MISS HIGGINS DUO (Saskatchewan) - Over the past five years, Little Miss Higgins ‑ described as a "pocket‑sized powerhouse" by Richard Knechtel in the Owen Sound Sun Times – has built a strong national reputation throughout Canada, appearing in clubs and on festival stages in Edmonton, Winnipeg, Montreal, Owen Sound, and Canso, Nova Scotia performing traditional songs but also her own original music that picks up on blues styles of the past, but remains very much her own expression.

NOVEMBER 06 - JIM BYRNES with STEVE DAWSON (British Columbia) - Jim Byrnes is a veteran actor (Wiseguy, Highlander), television host, singer and musician who has won two Juno Awards for best blues album. His base is the blues but he mixes in elements of gospel, rockabilly and country, pulling it all together in original and unique ways. Joining Jim is Steve Dawson, a notable performer and multiple Juno Award winner. He has been called, “a breathtaking guitarist”. Don’t miss this.  (1 set format)

NOVEMBER 27- TEXAS CONNECTION - SAM BAKER - GURF MORLIX - BETTYSOO (Texas) - This trio of Texas players will perform “in the round”. Gurf Morlix is an American multi‑instrumentalist, vocalist, songwriter and record producer. Sam Baker is another in a long line of gifted singer/songwriters from Texas. BettySoo is the proverbial rose between two thorns, the almost ‑5‑foot‑tall, freckle‑faced Korean singer‑songwriter from Texas, with the gorgeous, powerful soprano voice, irresistible melodies and emotionally revealing lyrics about women in transition. This Austin-based collection of talented artists will back each other up and let each other go, as the tunes dictate, as they share their rich storehouse of tunes and stories. 2 sets

***Opening Act - DAVE HAMILTON SWING TRIO (with Mel Wilson) ***  Dave, well-known to our audiences, has played guitar professionally for over 30 years. Over the years he has played country, country‑rock, pop, jazz and western swing. “The man” as we like to call him, does know his way around music styles. Mel Wilson has been a fixture on the music scene in Alberta for years .
THE TRAVELLING MABELS - These three unique women, each with their own vocal styling, have created an exciting and magical blend. Their strong lyrics, vocal harmonies, and rhythmic melodies will be sure to keep your toes tapping, tears falling, and guts busting with laughter. Collectively, they bring a wealth of their own life experiences to the stage with their refreshing new sound.

STEVE PINEO TRIO - Steve has become well known around western Canada through his days with groups such as The Alien Rebels and Beautiful Joe. As part of the outstanding band, The Co‑Dependents with Billy Cowsill, his reputation as a musician and performer was set. Among his accomplishments is his Prairie Music Awards “Outstanding Roots” recording with Paul Brandt. Steve will be playing as a trio.

FEBRUARY 12 - MADISON VIOLET TRIO - (Ontario) - Hailing from Scottish small towns in Canada, Brenley MacEachern and Lisa MacIsaac have chosen a musical path that channels their parents’ vintage record collection, comprised of the likes of Neil Young and Dolly Parton, with a kind of city-folk and tumbleweed pop sound of their own. From the Montreux Jazz Festival to Massey Hall, audiences have swooned over their songs. (1 set format)

APRIL 16 - “MEMPHIS MEMORIES II” - TWIN BILL - Once again we travelled this past year to Memphis for the Folk Alliance and saw a number of quality acts. Here are two that caught our “ears”. We are excited to present this season:
THE RHYTHM ANGELS (Tennessee) - Celeste Krenz and Rebecca Folsom form an amazing duo producing touching songs, beautiful melodies and exquisite harmonies.  They can also get downright funky.  Celeste's pure, sweet voice combined with Rebecca's earthiness, creates an absolute magic that touches the spirit.

THE NADAS (Ohio) - Although they still continue as a very popular 5-piece folk/rock group, we will feature this outstanding act as an acoustic trio, the format that is currently garnering The Nadas much acclaim and attention. Great, tight harmonies, compelling lyrics and presentation are the hallmarks of this exciting young group. This will be their inaugural Canadian performance.

MAY 07 - UHF (British Columbia)Thanks For The Memories Concert”- Many great performers have helped to build our club. “Thanks to them for all the great moments.” UHF - Shari Ulrich, Roy Forbes and Bill Henderson are three legendary performers whose decision to work together as UHF created a true Canadian super group.
